1. Nauru Style Grilled Potatoes

The good people of Nauru love their chips. When the weather permits, grilling is the perfect way to add flavour to a meal. Baked potatoes are a very easy way to prepare a delicious smoked side dish. You can also roast potatoes before adding them to a potato salad to add depth and complexity to dishes, such as a hearty potato salad with roasted onions.

2. Nauru Ice Coffee

Iced coffee’ is nothing more than black coffee extract with ice. It should be noted that there are no limits to experimentation and creativity in this world of coffee, and they are crucial to do something different and break the paradigm that coffee is only served hot. High quality ground coffee is recommended over instant coffee.

3. Mousse de Coco

Nauru is a Micronesian archipelago in the South Pacific between Australia and Hawaii. The island is the world’s smallest republic and one of the poorest countries in the Pacific Ocean. It’s quick to prepare, so you won’t have to wait long for it. This recipe uses pineapple, mango and papaya, but you can choose any fruit you like or whatever is in season at the time – the perfect summer dessert that’s healthier than ice cream!

It consists of several ingredients: unsweetened coconut milk, water, lime juice and zest, sugar. From the aroma to the food, coconut has always been a delicacy, and this refreshing and delicious dessert is no exception.

6. Bacon Avocado and Fried Egg Ham Sandwich

Start your day with this simple but delicious breakfast of avocado, pulled pork, bacon and fried egg. This is such a delicious combination of flavours. In Nauru, meat arrives canned and vegetables are frozen, the only products that can be enjoyed fresh are fish and coconut. The marinated fish is coated in batter using coconut grated like breadcrumbs. The coconut adds a rich flavour to the fish. You should try this tasty dish when you are in Nauru.
