The Best Beaches in Central Region

Kusu Island is located to the southeast of Sentosa, in southern Singapore. The island is so small that you can walk around it and enjoy the sceneries in less than 20 minutes. There are some small and quiet beaches, great for swimming and with a lot of shade. From September to October, the Kusu Island Annual Pilgrimage takes place, so this is the time to experience Kusu Island. This is the only time of the year you will get to find food stalls around; if you visit some other time of the year, make sure to bring your own food.

Lazarus Island is located to the southeast of Sentosa, next to Kusu Island, in southern Singapore. This island is the perfect getaway, a place to relax and get away from the city and from other crowded beaches. A white-sand beach has clear, bright blue water, and you can enjoy fly kites or just smiw and relax. If you are coming from St. John Island, you will spot a small beach right when you arrive; however, this beach has stron currents and it’s not very suitable for swimming. Make sure you take everything you need since there are no facilities on the island.

This lovely beach offers a quiet atmosphere and green areas, perfect to relax and hangout with friends or family. The water is bright blue, with wavebreakers making it calm and safe for everyone to swim. You can rent bikes, walk or jog along the beach. There are a few restaurants around the area, as well as picnic tables and barbecue grounds. Keep in mind that this is a popular beach and tends to be crowded during the weekends.

There are no places to eat at the beach; make sure you bring everything you might need. You can reach this beach by ferry from Marina South Pier.

This crescent-shaped beach is popular but doesn’t get crowded, visitors often coming for family picnics or to sunbathe and relax. There is a playground for children to have fun, and you can try and play beach volleyball. You can find a Koufu and other restaurants offering delicious food, or bring your own and enjoy a picnic like most people around. Many people stay late to admire the sunset; avoid this time if you don’t want to be on a crowded beach.

To get some tasty food, just walk across the bridge and you reach Hawker Centre, where you can find nice restaurants and bars. Be careful when swimming since the current can be strong.
