One of the island’s finest temples. From here, an annual pilgrimage is made to the main lake of Mauritius. It consists of seven temples, all following Bengali architecture. As everywhere, there are legends that may or may not be true in the end. In the case of the Temple of Triolet, it is said that a jar containing gold coins was found during its construction.

Pereybere is one of the most popular beaches in Mauritius. The resort is noisy, lively and dynamic, because young people come here to relax. There are dozens of cafes, bars and restaurants on the promenade, shops are also open and accommodation can be booked in one of the many hotels and guest houses. Divers use the services of the diving centre on the beach. The infrastructure is well developed, there are showers, toilets and changing rooms.

This lake, better known as the Great Basin, is a large lake that is the crater of an extinct volcano. Ganga Talao is considered the most visited and sacred Hindu site in Mauritius. This is because centuries ago, water from India’s sacred Ganges River flowed into the lake. Thousands of Hindus make pilgrimages every year to celebrate Lord Shiva, one of the three main gods of Hinduism.

14. Rochester Falls, Savanne

The view of the beautiful waterfall flowing down the majestic stone wall is truly a sight to behold. Remember that you have to walk along a path with lush vegetation to reach the waterfall. Without a doubt a pleasant walk to enjoy nature. It is important to remember that at this time of year it is possible to bathe in the pool of water, although you must be careful with the slippery stones.
