The Best Places in Abu Dhabi Emirate

1. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi

Source by Artur Malinowski – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

The Zayed Grand Mosque is a combination of various architectural styles from the Arab direction. Made of snow-white stone and decorated with gold, the mosque is not just a religious building. Always remember that when looking for places to visit in the UAE, not only Muslims, but also gentiles and only tourists are allowed to enter the Zayed Mosque. The mosque covers a large area, about 12 hectares. Domes, many columns, four minarets with a height of over a hundred metres, the whole complex, surrounded by flower gardens, is perfectly visible from every bridge stretching from Abu Dhabi to the mainland (the city is on the islands). The Zayed Grand Mosque, on golden sand, looks enchanting against the backdrop of sunrise or sunset.

2. Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi

Source by Aziz J.Hayat – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

This unusual construction, created in 2010, is the world’s largest theme park located in the building. Its area is 22 thousand square metres, and the dome is 45 metres high. The complex is completely dedicated to the legendary Formula 1 racing and everything connected with it. The main pastime of the park is the spectacular shows that visitors are treated to as they study the vibrant design of the complex and watch the interesting cars. But in addition to this, there are attractions, from the visit which can get a charge of vivid emotions. For example, here you can ride on an extreme roller coaster at a speed of over 200 km / h, fly in a special capsule or fly in the cockpit.

3. Yas Waterworld, Abu Dhabi

Source by Studio Sarah Lou – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Water rides will always be the best way to deal with the heat and high temperatures and Abu Dhabi’s Yas Waterworld takes the experience to another level. The rides are impressive, huge and stunningly designed. You’ll find water bombs, surf simulators, water slides of all shapes and sizes, free fall experiences, bodyboarding and much more! And for the kids, there are specialised slides, pools and water play areas with water cannons where they can cool off and enjoy themselves. I also recommend you visit the Cinesplash, where you will get a 5D cinematic experience to remember. Its gastronomic proposal is really varied, as you can find everything from sandwiches, salads, fruit shakes, fast food, ice cream, sweets and desserts in general.

4. Burj Khalifa, Dubai

The height of this massive skyscraper is 828 m (163 storeys), which is 196 m higher than the Shanghai Tower, whose height is 632 m (632 ft). At the time of design, the building was called Burj Dubai, but was later renamed, dedicating it to the President of the United Arab Emirates. Inside this huge building, in addition to the hotel, there are flats, a large number of shopping malls and offices. The highest observation deck is at an altitude of 472m. The air inside the Dubai Tower, in addition to cooling, is also scented. Not far from the skyscraper are the highest singing fountains in the world, which are an unusually beautiful sight. If you want to visit the observation deck on the 124th floor of the Burj Khalifa, you should buy tickets in advance to save time and money.

5. Zabeel Park, Dubai

Source by Pieter Edelman – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Zabeel Park is not only one of the largest parks in Dubai, but also one of the first technology-driven green spaces in the region. The spacious park is home to one of the region’s most famous sights: the Dubai skyline, from where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of both the old and new parts of the city. The park also offers live music, barbecue and picnic areas, restaurants and boat tours. You’ll also find sports programmes, walking and jogging trails, and a fitness centre. You can also choose to play miniature golf, cricket, ice skating or ride a skateboard or BMX bike.

6. Wild Wadi Waterpark, Dubai

Source by Studio Sarah Lou – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

The area of the water park is 5 hectares. The technical equipment is the most modern, which is why the institution is considered one of the most expensive in the world. The park was created in the image of the Wadi River, which flows between the cliffs of the mountains. Every ride has its own legend associated with the adventures of Sinbad. There are 24 rides in total. They are connected by several water slides, the length of which is more than one and a half kilometres. The water park has a developed food infrastructure. Everything you need for swimming can be bought on site. The park is equipped with a modern water purification system and more than 50 rescuers are constantly on duty around the perimeter.

7. Burj Al Arab, Dubai

Source by Mark Lehmkuhler – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

The list of the most incredible buildings in the world is replenished with another unique creation in Dubai: the Burj al-Arab hotel, which has become a true symbol of the city. This luxury hotel in the shape of a sail of a sea ship is included in the list of the most expensive hotels on the planet. The level of its service is so high and impeccable that, in many sources, Burj al-Arab is referred to as a seven-star hotel; in fact, it officially belongs to the five-star luxury category. As an example, the hotel’s list of services includes a helicopter transfer from the airport, 4 swimming pools, 2-storey rooms, a butler team, a private beach, relaxation treatments at the local spa, etc. The interior of the hotel is based on contrasts of blue and white flowers, as well as abundant gold decorations.

8. Hatta Heritage Village, Dubai

Source by Hazel Owen – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Hatta, equidistant from all seven emirates, is one of the most striking natural sites in Dubai for its history and diversity. More than 3,000 years old, Hatta has long been known for its historic fortress and small desert cattle ranches, but over the years it has become a destination for those seeking great adventures not far from Dubai. A must-see is the Hatta Heritage Village, a restored museum that is an example of true Emirati life in ancient times. It now consists of 30 buildings and includes huts and houses reconstructed in the image of those inhabited by the area’s ancestors. The village also houses relics and documents that reveal Dubai’s Arab heritage.

9. Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

Source by ckilger – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

The archipelago consists of three UAE attractions: the island, in appearance, are date palms. This plant is especially revered in Islam. The largest of the artificial islands is the Deira Palm Island, the Jebel Ali and Jumeirah palms are slightly more modest in size. Following the terminology, it would be more correct to call the peninsulas Palms, as they are connected to the coast by their ‘trunks’. The crown of each island is a crescent moon, a symbol of the Islamic religion. Barrier reefs protect the quotes from Sheikh Dubai’s poems from the island water. On the islands of Palms you can always find entertainment to suit your taste: here you can go scuba diving, sailing or windsurfing. Impressive architectural structures such as the underwater bridge, the Aquaventure water park and the famous Atlantis Hotel complete the picture.

10. Bollywood Parks, Dubai

Source by Jeremy Thompson – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Action, Adventure, Romance, Comedy, Music, Dance, Taste and Thrill, Bollywood Style. A celebration of Mumbai’s great film industry, divided into five zones inspired by Bollywood blockbusters. In this park you can enjoy unparalleled live performances and breathtaking attractions. The five areas you can enjoy in this park are: Bollywood Boulevard, which welcomes you to the park with shops, restaurants and entertainment; Bombay Bazaar, Little Mumbai, City of Dreams, City of Charm and Bombay House of Hollywood; Rustic Ravine, which represents India in its rural landscape; Royal Plaza, home to the park’s most iconic building, the Rajmahal Theatre; and the Bollywood Film Production Factory, where you can find the Hall of Heroes and experience the adventures of Indian cinema’s most famous heroes.

11. Kite Beach, Dubai

Source by Ricardo Santeugini – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Kite Beach has a lot to offer, its white sand; its cool, blue Persian Gulf water; its ample space giving a sense of privacy, even on the most crowded days; and its relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. However, one of the biggest attractions for this unique and well-kept stretch of coastline is that, unlike most of Dubai’s popular beaches, access is completely free. Located just off Jumeirah Road, Kite Beach also has activities for just about everyone. There’s a four-kilometre running track and Dubai’s largest skatepark and several volleyball courts. Foodies have the option of visiting the open-air restaurants with everything from falafel to frozen bananas.

12. Dubai Miracle Garden, Dubai

Source by Dennis Sylvester Hurd – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Dubai Miracle Garden is a space of 72 thousand square metres, 50 million flowers and 250 million plants, making it the largest in the world.  Due to weather conditions, this garden is only open in winter, approximately between November and March. Opening and closing dates are variable (just because of the weather) so always check if it will be open during your trip. No food can be brought in, but there are also many options for selling food at most good prices, mainly fast food.

13. Hatta Rock Pools, Dubai

Source by Bkrebsmaus07 – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Hatta Rock Pools is Hatta’s main attraction, with a beautiful dry river whose bed has been carved out of the mountain rock over thousands of years until it becomes trapped in an impressively narrow rock gorge. It is quite possible to swim in the Hada pools and climb a cable hundreds of metres from one pool to another. Swimming is unsupervised and there are many places where your feet won’t get wet, so a competent swimmer is required. As we are located in the rural area of the Arabian Peninsula, we recommend that ladies book the sexiest bikinis at Dubai Jumeirah Beach and opt for t-shirt swimming costumes instead. The Hatta Rock Pool area is also suitable for a picnic.

14. Al Hayl Castle, Hail

Source by Stephen Colebourne – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Al-Hayl Castle, 11 km west of the city of Fujairah, was once used as the headquarters of the ruling clan of Fujairah. Built approximately 250 years ago, it has played an important role in defending the countryside, used as a sack for guarding and patrolling to protect Fujairah from attack. Not much remains today, the original fortifications having long since been demolished, except for a two-tiered tower, which stands on the hill as a reminder of the days when these forts were scattered across the strategic slopes in what is now the United Arab Emirates.

15. Laguna Waterpark, Dubai

Source by ACME – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

The Laguna Waterpark is the newest of Dubai’s water parks. On the programme are slides such as “The Loop” or the “Constrictor”, crazy tunnels including the thrill ride “Freefall”: a drop into a glass capsule that will send you plunging at insane speed. Of course, there is also a lazy river, as well as swimming pools, including the “Infinity Pool” with its juice bar and a wave pool where you can surf: “WaveOz 180 FlowRider”.  Please note that a minimum height of 1.20 m is required for some rides. The highlight of this water park is the beautiful view of the Dubai skyline.

16. Ain Dubai, Dubai

Source by anoldent – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Ain Dubai is the world’s largest Ferris wheel. Located on the man-made island of Bluewaters, the Ferris wheel is 250 metres high and offers an unforgettable panoramic view of the Dubai skyline from its luxurious cabins. When you board the Ain Dubai Ferris Wheel, the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah or Dubai Marina are at your feet, combining the past, present and future of the city in a postcard image where passengers can have a bird’s eye view of Dubai while enjoying an unforgettable experience. It is best to buy tickets for Ain Dubai online in advance to avoid queues, as it is one of Dubai’s newest tourist attractions.

17. Dubai Garden Glow, Dubai

Source by Ankur Panchbudhe – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

This theme park has dinosaur parks, artistic works with recyclable material, a dark garden that has more than 10 million energy saving light bulbs and much more. It is worth mentioning that this is a night park and you should bring a good camera to take unforgettable pictures. Tickets are relatively inexpensive when you consider the quality of the rides you can enjoy in this park. The entrance fee to Dubai Garden Glow is 65 AED. Dubai Garden is located in Zabeel Park, a busy area of the city and not too difficult to find.

18. Green Planet Dubai, Dubai

Source by thiago silvestre – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Green Planet is a tropical forest in the heart of Dubai where it hardly ever rains. Visitors can explore the attractions of more than 3,000 species of free-flying plants, animals and birds that are kept at temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius. At Green Planet Dubai, you will learn about the different plants and animals that make up the planet’s tropical forests. The centrepiece of this Dubai attraction is a 25-metre-tall tree covered in vines and branches that extend to every corner of the biodome. In addition to seeing the creatures found on each level, visitors can also learn about the role and significance of specific parts of the rainforest.

The Best Places in Fujairah Emirate

19. Al Badiyah Mosque, Al Badiyah

Source by Artur Malinowski – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

About 35 kilometres to the end of the city of Fujairah, the mud-brick Al-Bidyah Mosque is the oldest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and is named after the city that once surrounded it. The engineering features are a major achievement for the period of construction. The mosque consists of a prayer hall, decorated with arches and ventilation openings, and a mihrab (prayer niche pointing to Mecca). A central pillar divides the internal space into four squares of similar dimensions, covered by vaulted ceilings. The site surrounding the mosque has been excavated to reveal that it has been inhabited for 4,000 years.

20. Snoopy Island, Fujairah

Source by Derek Clark – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

For sun and sand in the Emirate of Fujairah, most of the clan head straight for Al Aqah, with its long beach along the coast and the rocky outcrop of ‘Snoopy Island’ that overlooks the Rada of Oman from the sun loungers. Just 45 kilometres from the city of Fujairah, Al Aqah is one of the least developed tourist areas in the UAE, with only a scattering of five-star hotels lining the beachfront, although much more growth is planned for the future. The beach hotels lining the coast here cater to both visitors looking for quiet days of sunbathing and water sports enthusiasts, with on-post facilities for divers, snorkelers and paddle boarders.

21. Fujairah Fort, Fujairah

Source by Jeff Huffman – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Considered the oldest fort in the UAE, it formerly served as a defensive building and home to the ruling clan. For many centuries, it was the only stone building along the Fujairah coast. The fort has three main sections, several rooms, a square tower and two round towers. In recent years, it has been completely restored to its former glory. The field of action surrounding the striving is part of a small heritage village created by the Fujairah Archaeology and Heritage Section. Here, you can see restored old houses, exhibits on traditional life and a display of the Al Yazrah irrigation system that Emirati farmers used in their fields.

The Best Places in Umm al-Quwain Emirate

22. Dreamland Aqua Park, Al Khor Al Sharqi

Source by Andrew Stelmach – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Atlantis Aquaventure is the waterpark at the Atlantis The Palm Hotel, one of Dubai’s most iconic venues. It is the emirate’s largest and most impressive water park. Spread over more than 17 hectares, there are more than 30 rides and water slides in stunning settings. There’s something for everyone, and if you’re a fan of big adrenaline rushes, you’ll love this park! The park also has a state-of-the-art wave pool, “Surf’s Up”, where you can try surfing, a slide where you slide on a buoy with a capacity for 8 people, or a zip line, “Atlantean Flyers”. With this, you’ll have a bird’s eye view of the water park and a sublime panorama of the resort.

The “Poseidon’s Revenge” slide and the “Leap of Faith” slide are the most extreme and popular slides in the park.

23. Umm Al Quwain Fort And Museum, Umm al-Qaywayn

Source by gordontour – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

Umm Al Quwain Fort. It used to be the residence of the rulers of the emirate, then became a police station and is now a museum. The fort offers an excellent view of the sea, and the museum exhibits archaeological finds from Al-Dour and a rich collection of weapons from different periods. The fort is well known for its round towers. It is located at the entrance of the Old City, the Masjid Mosque and the bazaar are nearby, and the “Poseidon’s Revenge” slide and the “Leap of Faith” slide are the most extreme and popular slides in the park.
