Besides the fact that it has a precise and very particular architecture and composition in terms of design, its significance is also important as it was built as a tribute to the lives that were lost during the 2004 Tsunami. Although for many it may symbolise a sad event, the monument was made with the intention of immortalising the lives lost, as well as being a place to contemplate and observe the sea, many tourists who love monuments and architecture are recreated by this type of structure. Many families take the children to recreate and enjoy an outdoor outing where they can appreciate the view of the ocean.

8. Conrad Maldives Rangali, Mandhoo

To begin with, the second of its two levels is submerged under the sea at a depth of five metres. This area is completely glazed, so you can observe sea turtles, clown fish, barracudas… up close. The upper level houses the bedrooms, the living room, the kitchen, a gym, an infinity pool… It also has a 24-hour butler. This park is located in the centre of Malé and is a nice place to enjoy a nice walk in a natural environment. Like almost everything else in Malé and Hulhumalé, it’s always crowded, and it’s the other place, next to the beach, where the locals go in their free time. Fridays are the busiest, as it’s the day off for the vast majority of Maldivians (it’s like Sunday in the West).

17. Hukuru Miskiyy, Male

Source by Sofia K – Under Flickr Creative Commons License

5.8. The Undersea Restaurant is a culinary and visual experience deep in the Indian Ocean at Hurawalhi Resort. At 5.8 metres below the surface of the Indian Ocean, we discovered that the restaurant has the most spectacular view imaginable: the bottom of the sea. You’re not looking at an aquarium, this time you’re in an aquarium looking at the rest of the ocean from your little glass box. The stairs at the end of the pier lead to 5.8 (the name comes from the depth at which it is located). As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a coral landscape through the tubular structure, which offers a unique view of the marine flora and fauna.

33. Watching the beautiful sunset at Addu Atoll, Addu Atoll

Source by DD – Under Wikimedia Creative Commons License

Located at the southern tip of the archipelago. There are very few islands around, so it stands out for its peacefulness compared to other islands you can visit in the region. One of the best things to do here is to lie on a sun lounger or hammock and enjoy the incredible view of the horizon. The majesty of nature and you make your holiday perfect. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset. Plus, the Maldives holds the record for the flattest country in the world, so nothing will stand in the way of a sunrise over the sea. Without a doubt, this is one of the most magical moments you can experience during your stay in the Maldives.
