Lightning Rod is located within Dollywood. Marketed as the world’s first launched wooden roller coaster, the ride is themed to hot rod cars from the 1950s and was manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction. It was originally planned to debut on opening day in 2016, but a problem with the ride’s unique launch system delayed the opening to June 13, 2016.
