1. Al-Fatih Mosque, Manama
One of the largest and most beautiful mosques in Istanbul, the Fatih Mosque is an imposing temple named after Sultan Mehmet II Fatih, an important figure in Ottoman history. It is Fatih’s Tomb that still captures all the photographs and glances, as he was one of the key figures in understanding the expansion of Islam and the Ottoman Empire, but is much loved by Muslim followers.
2. Qal’at al-Bahrain, Manama
Qal’at al-Bahrain is an archaeological site located in the Northern Governorate, Bahrain. This artificial hill was created by humans. Qal’at al-Bahrain, the Dilmun capital of Bahrain, is a unique example of a surviving ancient landscape with cultural and natural elements. From here you will have a magnificent view of Manama’s skyscrapers and the contrast between old and new Bahrain.
3. Amwaj Islands, Persian Gulf
Amwaj is a real estate development with luxury hotels, residences, marinas and Western-style shopping malls that are popular with expatriates in the area. The small country of some 30 artificial islands between the coasts of Iran and Saudi Arabia has thus expanded its territory by 2.79 square kilometres.
4. Durrat Al Bahrain, Persian Gulf
Durat Al Bahrain, along with Dubai Palm Islands in the United Arab Emirates, is the second largest artificial island in Bahrain after the Amwaj Islands. The unfinished project consists of 6 atolls, 5 fish-shaped islands and 2 crescent-shaped islands. These islands are planned to have a five-star hotel, an 18-hole golf course, 12 bridges and a marina.
