Khor Al Udeid Beach is located in the capital of Doha, near the border with Saudi Arabia. The drive there is an adventure on its own, two hours through desert and sand dunes. You get to the beach and the stunning landscape will be unforgettable, desert and sea meeting with beautiful colors. The beach is quiet and relaxing, with fine sand and clear, warm water, where you can enjoy canoeing and fishing. There are no stores or restaurants, so bring your own food, drinks and all supplies you might need.

Katara Beach is located in Doha, with stunning views of the sea, backdropped by the tall buildings in the city. You can enjoy many water activities and have fun on the water slides, there are also chairs and beach umbrellas available, or you can choose to sunbathe on the soft sand. Many food stalls and restaurants around the area offer delicious food for reasonable prices. Keep in mind that Qatar has a conservative dress code, so women should avoid wearing bikinis and have to be covered to their knees and elbows, and men should wear shorts.


Simaisma Beach, Doha

Simaisma Beach is located in Doha, further north from the city. It is a calm beach with warm water, with a park and areas for children, and a good fishing spot. The beach gets pretty crowded most of the time, so it is not a place for relaxing. However, you can enjoy a picnic of barbecue, and there are some cafes nearby. Avoid staying after the sun sets since many areas are not illuminated; if you are camping, bring lanterns with you.


Al Gharya Beach, Doha

Al Gharya Beach is located in the Al Shamal municipality, in northern Qatar. This wide sandy beach is a great place to spend a fun beach day with family or friends, enjoying different activities and relaxing under the sun. The water is warm with small waves, safe for swimming; however, make sure to check the tide forecast in advance. There are restaurants and a resort to the left end of the beach, as well as a campground and barbecue ground in the area. Keep in mind that this is a popular beach, and tend to be busy in the afternoon, especially during the weekend.


Al Ruwais Beach, Doha

Al Ruwais Beach is located in the Al Shamal municipality, in northern Qatar. Serene and quiet, this sandy beach is a favorite spot among families, with interesting historical places to visit. The water is shallow and clear, safe for kids to play. There are a few cafes nearby, and being such a remote beach, it is mostly frequented by locals and never gets crowded. Al Ruwais Beach is peaceful and perfect to relax and disconnect, with stunning views of both the sunset and sunrise.

Dukhan Beach is located in Dukhan, in the western coast of Qatar. This sandy beach has small waves and no rocks, totally safe for kids and inexperienced swimmers. You should bring your own food and drinks to have a picnic or barbecue on the shore, but you can also visit the McDonald’s nearby. It can get crowded during the weekend so visit on a weekday if you want to experience  the beach when it’s quiet and isolated.

Umm Bab Beach is located in the Al Rayyan Municipality, on the western coast of Qatar. Also known as Palm Tree Beach, this isolated, sandy stretch is a great getaway to disconnect from a busy life. The water is shallow and great for kids to play; besides, there is a children’s playground in the area making it a favorite spot among families. It’s not a touristy place and never gets crowded or busy; however, keep in mind that there are no facilities at the beach, so make sure to bring your own food and enjoy a barbecue and picnic in the sand.

Fuwairit Beach is located in Al Ghārīyah, in northern Qatar. Eroded hills, soft sand and clear waters will welcome you once you get here. You won’t find any restaurants nearby, so bring your favorite food to enjoy a picnic with your family, or a barbecue under the stars. Fuwairit Beach is easy to reach, but still secluded, which means it is never crowded. You can stay after sunset and enjoy an unforgettable campfire with your friends.

Maroona Beach is located in Ash Shamal, in northern Qatar. This beach is both sandy and rocky, with shallow and clear waters, not suitable for swimming but perfect for snorkeling. Still, be careful of the sharp rock underwater. Keep in mind that there are no facilities on the beach, but you can buy snacks on the stations you see on your way to the beach. Avoid arriving after midday if you want to experience a quiet beach.

Al Wakra Municipality Family Beach is located in the Al Wakrah Municipality, on the eastern coast of Qatar. This golden sandy beach is a favorite spot for family outings, where you can have barbecues and picnics, and walk or jog along the coast. The water is shallow and calm, safe for kids to swim. There are resorts at the beach, a restaurant, and three playgrounds. Even during the busiest days, the beach is wide enough to allow a quiet spot for everyone.

Sealine Beach is located in the Al Wakrah Municipality, on the eastern coast of Qatar. This lovely beach is famous for its golden sand dunes, where you can try sand bashing, or climb to the top and admire the best view of the beach. The water is clear and great for scuba diving, and there are desert safaris and camel rides available. There are a few restaurants and cafes along the beach, as well as resorts nearby; you can also bring your own food and have a barbecue and picnic, or stay at the campground.

Al Thakhira Beach is located in Al Khor, just 15 minutes away from the main city. The beach is famous for its mangrove forest, and you can go kayaking along these peculiar trees or take a guided tour. Being so peaceful, empty and quiet, fishing is also a top activity in Al Thakhira Beach. The water is very shallow, not really good for swimming, but you can see small fish and if you are lucky, spot beautiful sea turtles. Make sure to bring your own food, drinks and all supplies you might need.
