The Outback by Camel – Australia

The Outback by Camel, Australia is perfect if you’re passionate about adventure. The best way to travel through the Outback is, as many of the original European explorers did, with a long chain of camels. Your experience will take you from trekking around South Australia Lake Eyre, startling kangaroos and emu, sleeping in a tent and enjoy the starry sky.

Things to do

These are a list of my favorite highlights of things to do and see within the Outback:

The Simpson Desert

Without a doubt, the lively cities of Australia may shine, but you should know that the interior of the country is still largely deserted. One of the best-known is the Simpson Desert, in southern Australia. This charming place will captivate you from the first moment with its hundreds of kilometers of pure dunes under a tremendous blue sky.

In addition, you will not be alone, because there is a great variety of birds, some other animals, and plants that will accompany you in this challenging and incredible adventure. The best part of this whole trip is that you will travel the desert riding a camel. Take the full experience and an unforgettable vacation by letting yourself be taken by a camel to corners you never thought you knew.

Eyre Lake

This is a great place to start your adventure with an explorer, you must certainly take a camel to travel around these surroundings. This is located in southern Australia. In addition, this is a region of vast beauty, all of the red sand and salt lakes filled with acacias will leave your mouth open.

Night sky & Campfires

After a long excursion, came down of your camel and get comfortable for a delicious meal around a campfire, telling stories or just admiring the imposing sky of Australia. Undoubtedly, another experience of this incredible excursion is sleeping in comfortable rolls of beds, there are also tents in case it rains. Do not worry, it is not a 5-star hotel, millions of stars fall on your head every night when you sleep. Remember to wear warm clothes for when the night falls, it is usually quite cold.

How to get there

Trekking companies provide details on how to get to the starting points of the trekking. These are often remote, so if you don’t have a vehicle, you should check the long-distance bus schedules or company pick-up arrangements.

When to go

The camel trekking season is the Australian winter, from the end of April until the beginning of September, when temperatures are tolerable.

How long

Approximately 3 days are enough for you to enjoy your experience as a hiker in this arid zone.

Opening and closing hours

The schedules depend on the guide or the group with which you will go on an excursion. However, these are usually from 9 in the morning.

Planning

You must prepare for a truly rustic excursion but certainly spectacular if what you like is to explore. All the necessities apart from your tent or loot which you must carry are generally included, among others.

Inside information

Always remember to book your plane ticket in advance, as well as the place where you decide to stay. Also, pack comfortable clothes but that can cover you from the sun, as well as sunscreen and caps.

History

In some parts of the desert, it is still possible to wander in the void with camels as porters, amazing kangaroos, and emus accustomed to having the arid landscape for them. The passage of the hooves of the wild donkeys makes shallow trenches deep enough to collect some moisture and produce an undulating line of grass. But sometimes these footprints turn out to belong forgotten human trails.

Other nearby attractions

Cairns

Do not get carried away by the fact that Cairns is a small city, as it receives millions of tourists. Certainly, it is a very popular destination for foreigners because of its tropical climate and its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef less than an hour by boat. In addition, the Daintree National Park and the Tribulation Cape, about 130 kilometers. Without a doubt, this is the recommended place to start tourism in Australia.

Gold coast

This beautiful city has an area of beautiful beaches, as well as giant waves perfect for surfing over the Pacific. If you are a surf lover you will love this place very much. Also, they say that in Snapper Rocks Superbank, near Coolongatta, there have been some of the highest waves in the world. In addition, to have clean and not crowded waves, the Sunshine Coast is recommended in Caloundra, Moolooloba, Maroochydore, Coolum Beach, and Noosa Heads, where the forests reach the shore of the beach.
