The following list highlights some of the best beaches in Mauritius. So if you are in Mauritius, I recommend visiting the following:

Tamarin Beach

Tamarin beach is located in Tamarin Public Beach. It is spectacular the landscape that this site gives you, the sky combines with the sea, the water is crystal clear and super calm, the white sand shines with the sun, the vegetation around gives you shade. It’s a public beach, so you don’t have to pay to enjoy it.


La Cuvette Beach, Grand Bay

La Cuvette beach is located in Grand Bay,. The beauty of La Cuvette is the open space, the many mini beaches, hidden rocks and cliffs and, above all, the tranquil environment. There is a lot of grass to play football, lots of benches to spend the afternoon and a lot of well-kept paths around all this.

Flic En Flac beach is located in Flic En Flac.  Its public white sand beach is one of the longest on the island. This public beach attracts local families, tourists and visitors all year round. Its lagoon is protected by the coral reefs that surround it. The beach offers panoramic views over the horizon of the Indian Ocean and the Morne Brabant Peninsula in south-west Mauritius.

Mont Choisy Beach, Mont Choisy

Mont Choisy beach is located in Mont Choisy. Beautiful and picturesque beach.  The sea is crystal clear and has almost no waves. Ideal for swimming and sunbathing, although you can also protect yourself from it under the shade of its trees and palms. There are many food and juice vans available all over the beach.


Poste Lafayette Beach, Poste Lafayette

Poste Lafayette beach is located in Poste Lafayette. It has a southern part and a northern part. The south beach is a quiet area, the sandy parts are limited in size, but the shallow waters and sandy seabed compensate. Ideal for a small picnic or silver hiking and know the whole area.  On weekends you’ll find some sandwich vendors, selling hamburgers and the like, but further north from Poste Lafayette.


Grand Bay Public Beach, Mauritius

Grand Bay public beach is located in Grand Bay. This beach owes its popularity to the charming quality of its emerald waters and its vitality day and night.  It offers facilities for swimming, sailing, windsurfing and water skiing, and is also the starting point for deep-sea fishing trips and boat trips to the islands north of Mauritius: Gunner’s Cuoin, Flat Island, Round Island and Serpent Island.

Blue Bay beach is located in Blue Bay Beach, Pointe d’Esny. It is a beautiful and quiet beach, it looks like a natural pool because it has almost no waves. It is surrounded by a lot of vegetation, its sand is white and bright and the water is crystal clear and reflects a beautiful and relaxing blue. You can take boat rides, dive to see the corals and eat delicious seafood.

Gris Gris Beach, Souillac

Gris Gris beach is located in Souillac. The beach is easily accessible from the neighboring town of Souillac, is naturally very popular among tourists. It has a parking lot right at the entrance to the beach and there are a couple of local restaurants right next to the lookout. Depending on the season, the waters can be quite lively, and although it is possible to go swimming, beware of strong currents.


St Felix Beach, Distrito de Savanne

St Felix beach is located in Savanne. It is one of the main public beaches in southern Mauritius, and stretches along 1.5 kilometers, from Riviere des Galets to Riambel.  It’s ideal for snorkeling and swimming, as it’s a quiet beach all year round.

It offers good facilities in terms of public restrooms and food vendors. The shallow waters around St Felix beach, along with the distance to the coral reef, make it a very popular place for families with young children.
