Chesterman Beach is located in Tofino, on the southern coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This long and wide stretch of sand, backdropped with a verdant forest, offers a relaxing atmosphere and stunning views. The cool waters have great waves, making Chesterman Beach a favorite among surfers; but don’t forget a wetsuit! Being a dog-friendly beach, some people visit to walk their dogs. There is a Canadian restaurant to the right end of the beach, and many resorts nearby. It never gets crowded and the beach always has a calm, quiet atmosphere.

Long Beach is located in Wainfleet, in the Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada. An isolated long and wide sandy beach, backdropped with a verdant forest, known for being windy and peaceful. The fast wind creates the waves on the clear water that attract surfers all year long. There is an airport just behind the beach, so you can watch planes land and take off from your spot in the sand. Being part of a National Park Reserve, the beach is well taken care of and never gets too crowded or noisy. There are great camping spots, and with no restaurants nearby, many people choose to have a picnic at the beach. Long Beach is dog friendly and the forest behind it is a great hiking option.

Skaha Beach is located in Penticton, in southern British Columbia. This thin stretch of golden sand, with the shallow waters of Lake Skaha, is a peaceful spot, favorite among families. You can try paddleboarding and kayaking to explore the lake, or simply lay down, sunbathe and relax. Besides, there is a volleyball net set in the sand, tennis courts, and a playground where kids can enjoy. There are a couple of restaurants to the right end of the beach and a camping site. A small bridge joins the right side to the left side, and having an airport near the right side, you can watch planes land and take off.

Both sandy and pebbled, this unspoilt beach is the perfect getaway, where only nature surrounds you. During high tide, the waves are perfect for surfing. Being hard to find and reach, not many people visit this beach, leaving it quiet and isolated all year long. To arrive at the beach, there is a 500-meter walk from the parking area; besides, around the forested area, there are amazing hiking trails. Keep in mind that there are no facilities or places to eat nearby. Avoid swimming without swim shoes; the stones on the shore and underwater can be slippery.

Wreck Beach is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. A small, but wide sandy beach, nudist friendly and unique, offering a peaceful atmosphere in an entirely natural place. The water is clear and cold, with calm waves making it safe for swimming. There are around 500 steps to climb down from the parking space to arrive at the beach; however, it can still get crowded in the afternoon. With a hiking trail passing along the beach, offering stunning views in every spot, this beach is a hiking paradise. There are some food vendors in the area, and with all the firewood laying around, you can have a barbecue on the beach.

There are a couple of restaurants on the left end of the beach, and picnic tables set up on the sand. Besides, there is a playground for kids to enjoy, and you can stay the night in the campground. The beach can be busy on weekends, but it is extensive enough that it never feels crowded.

With 11 km of soft sand, this beach is the second longest freshwater beach in the world, with the clear, warm waters of Lake Huron. Sauble Beach has something for everyone; you can simply sunbathe and swim, challenge yourself to windsurfing and water skiing, or enjoy a match of beach volleyball. Every summer, there is an annual sandcastle building contest, and movie nights every week. Of course, the beach is the busiest during summer; visit during off-season if you want to avoid crowds. Sunsets in Lake Huron are known for being breathtaking, so staying to admire the sun setting is a must. There are many options to eat, from restaurants and cafes, to ice cream stores and food trucks.

Known for being the world’s longest freshwater beach, this 14-km sandy beach is a popular tourist destination in Canada. The lake water is shallow and calm, safe for everyone to swim. Wasaga Beach is divided into 6 sections, the first one, to the east, being the most touristy one; there, you can find many bars, restaurants and shops. Beaches 2 to 3 have bike trails and playgrounds for kids; while beaches from 4 to 6 are popular to jog, skate, and bike. Along the beach you can find volleyball nets set up. Of course, Beach 1 usually gets very crowded, while Beach 6 is emptier and quiet.
