The following list highlights some of the best beaches in Benin. So if you are in Benin, I recommend visiting the following:

Fidjrosse Beach, Cotonou

Address – La Cabane du Pêcheur, Cotonou, Benin

Fidjrosse beach is located in La Cabane du Pêcheur, Cotonou. It is a wide, white sand beach, is highly recommended by those who have visited. Along the beach there are different places to eat, several shops and you can do some sporting activities. It is quite popular among locals and also among tourists.


Obama Beach, Cotonou

Address – Obama Beah, Cotonou, Benin

Obama beach is located in Cotonou. It is incredibly wide and long, you will have plenty of space to lie down to sunbathe, relax, play some sports, eat, whatever you want, less bathing in the water because it is prohibited, due to its waves being dangerous. But you can admire the scenery and enjoy your stay because it is a very beautiful beach, you could also share with the locals and learn more about their culture.

Grand Popo Beach, Grand Popo

Address – Route Pavee, Grand Popo, Benín

Route Pavee is located in Route Pavee, Grand Popo. It is a wide beach, with yellow sand and sky blue water. Straw huts, with wooden chairs decorate the entire shore, in addition to the multiple palm trees that you will find throughout the beach. Nearby has several hotels where you can stay to have quick access to this beach.

La Bouche du Roi Beach, Grand Popo

La Bouche du Roi is located in Avloh, is southern Benin. This thin strip of soft sand stretches for as far as the eye can see, offering warm seawater on one side, and cool lagoon water on the other. The breathtaking views are unparalleled, and surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere, this beach is perfect to relax. Here, it never gets busy or crowded; however, there are no facilities or places to eat and stay in the area.


Erevan Beach, Cotonou

Erevan Beach is located in Cotonou, on the southern coast of Benin. This picturesque, active beach, with golden sand lined with palm trees, is a favorite among locals for parties and celebrations. The water is warm with big waves, not suitable for swimming but relaxing just to look at. There are many restaurants, resorts, and stores in the area, making it a great beach to hang out with friends. It tends to get busy during the weekends, especially in the evenings.


Seme Krake Beach, Oueme

Sèmè Kraké Beach is located in Ouémé, on the southern coast of Benin. With slightly darker sand, this stunning beach grants you some of the most breathtaking views. The water is calmer compared to other beaches in Benin, making this a great spot for a relaxing bath. There is a bar at the beach, and in the town nearby you can find restaurants and stores. It is rather remote and not popular among tourists, being only frequented by locals; for this reason, it never gets crowded or busy.
