Elephants, giraffes and other animals of the African wildlife are an important part of this gorgeous panoramic view. From big cats and predators like cheetahs, lions, and wild dogs to much bigger animals like elephants and hippos, there is a lot to see and experience. But what is really wonderful about this place is how it is relatively untouched by humans. It’s the perfect scenario to admire in real life the beautiful landscapes similar to the ones that appear on Lion King’s movie.

Macatoo Camp

There are different options for tourists to travel and take a closer look at the amazing wildlife, such as boating, traveling by a safari vehicle and riding a horse. In case you choose the last option, the best place to go is the Macatoo Camp, on the western side of the Okavango Delta, where you can have a perfect and spectacular view of the sunset. This place has a very good reputation for providing an excellent riding experience and, of course, it has professional guides to lead the rides and help you in case you need it. If you’re lucky enough, this three-day horseback safari can be the best opportunity to take a closer look at the majestic animals and the best of the African wildlife.

Each day is consisted of two rides to explore the Okavango Delta, which makes it easier to get into the depth of the delta. On the first ride, there’s a lot of astonishing views of the different and beautiful lakes. Bouncing with the galloping movement of the horses while hearing and feeling the small splashes of each step forward the horse takes. These small splashes and drops of water form small but colorful rainbows that are like the cherry on top of the all breathtaking view and the animals’ sounds. Another advantage of horse riding is the possibility to get closer to other animals as they are not afraid of the horses. However, it’s important to always keep in mind that one should maintain a respectful distance to not disturb them.

On the other hand, the evening rides are even more spectacular and surprising, as the sun’s rays create a calming environment in where the golden light of the sunset is the main attraction. Once you get back to the Camp, you can relax and have a nice dinner while admiring the few animals that pass nearby. This journey is definitely the best way to have a one in a lifetime experience, one that can make you reconnect to nature and witness the beauty and wildness that exist on Earth.
