If you are thinking about a place with turquoise waters, white sand beaches, tropical plants, and a Mediterranean climate, the islands of Scilly are the place you are looking for. Located 48 kilometers from the southwestern tip of Cornwall, this set of tiny islands looks like something out of a book of great stories. There are no major roads, which makes cars a rarity, and with its abundance of flora and fauna, they create the ideal setting to relax.
On the beaches, the sea water is clear and shallow, making them ideal for approaching the small fish that swim along the shore. In addition, there is the possibility of exploring the islands by bike or boat, which makes them a destination for everyone.
With a total area of 16 kilometers, you can find a set of 5 islands: St. Mary’s, Tresco, St. Martins, Bryher and St. Agnes, the first being the largest of them all and one of the most acclaimed tourist sites in this area of England. There you can find a wide variety of castles made of rocks and gardens that are admired by visitors, being these the biggest attractions offered to travelers.
Another tourist attraction is the Gardens of the Abacus of Tresco or Tresco Abbey Garden’s, a beautiful place where there is a great variety of species of plants that come from all over the world, and that bloom because of the winter weather.
The Bay of Tresco, another important site, has a unique charm, its landscape with rocks on the coasts, sands and blue-green waters with darker sections than others, paints a relaxing environment that you can admire for hours and hours.
St. Martins, with crystal clear waters and idyllic beaches that stretch for two miles, has an enterprising and diverse community that together with its flower farm and a vineyard, both open to visitors, make it one of the best beaches of the Scilly Islands.
There are many wonders that this place hosts, and there is no doubt that when approaching the islands of Scilly, the view of the islets and the rosary of rocks outcropping in a sea of clear waters and a bluish green, is really sublime and attractive to all of those that want to enjoy a few days full of natural charm.
