From 25, I decided to travel by myself, instead of waiting on my friends to pursue my dreams of travelling around the world. From making that first steps it’s allowed me to see so many places & I’ve collected so many ideas & experiences that I want to share with you. 🏖️🌅🌆

Currently I enjoy spending my time as a successful digital nomad (blogger, vlogger & entrepreneur) who has been to 6 continents. 🌎🌍🌏

Rio Hang Gliding Experience, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is an exhilarating way to experience the best views over Rio de Janeiro.

Located in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro is a spectacular paradise, even more than many cities in the world: on one side, you see the waters of the Atlantic ocean and on the other, the mountains covered by the Atlantic tropical jungle.

Are you bold? If you want to have fun in Rio, head to Tijuca National Park, the largest urban rainforest in the world, very close to the city center. From that place, after a theoretical and informative session, you can launch together with your pilot from Pedra Bonita, a beautiful mountain in Sao Conrado.

Although at first, you feel afraid, once you get used to the wonderful views you will begin to enjoy and have fun on the trip. Also… Smile! Everything will be recorded in a GoPro, so you can relive this experience again and again.

When you are flying and going down to the beach of Sao Conrado, this is where the beauty of nature is fully present. You will be pleasantly surprised to have a panoramic view of the incredible Christ the Redeemer, the granite peak of Corcovado, the wide and white sands of the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, the sister city of Niterói in Rio and the Guanabara Bay…

Don’t worry about the handling of the glider, as your guide and pilot will educate you on the necessary procedures before starting the trip. Once your in the air, all you need to do is enjoy the amazing experience and let the your pilot take care of the rest.  Once your up there you will understand why birds are such peaceful animals. Are you ready to go?

When to go

Departures are made seven days a week throughout the year. It does not have to be sunny, as long as there are no low clouds or rain coming down from the mountains, it’s safe to go.

How long

A straight slip will take 12 minutes. But if the conditions are correct, it can rise above the city for up to half an hour.

Planning

Wear an additional layer of clothing, since it may be cool when taking off due to altitude. Comfortable shoes are also important for ascent and landing. It is not advisable to wear glasses because the wind can blow them away.

Internal information

If you have a few days in Rio, it is a good idea to contact your delta guide immediately. They will be able to identify the best day to fly, which will not necessarily be the sunniest day or the best day for the beach.
