History

According to different cultures, the dog has always been man’s best friend, helping him with tasks such as hunting, safety, company and in this case, to facilitate transport. In countries that were affected by snow, sled dogs were the perfect help to maintain communication and continue transporting supplies. This activity has been known since before the colonization of the United States, around 1000 A.D. Currently there is no need to transport supplies in the sleds, however, dog sled races are still done and as a recreational activity.
