During the 20th century, most of the people who live here have dedicated themselves to fishing. In addition, it was over here that the world’s first fishing communities began to form. Finally, after having gone through the first and second world wars, the Soviet Union was separated. When this happened, this place became the holiday destination of many Germans and has remained so.
