Once winter comes, Norway becomes the perfect cross-country skiing destination of the world, with over 2500 kilometers of trails weaving throughout the entire country, for instance. How to get there

Lillehammer is a town that doesn’t have an airport, however, the main airport of Norway: Oslo Airport Gardermoen, is located only 145 km (90 miles) and offers train services with daily departures of 1 hour and 30 minutes to Lillehammer. In addition, if you are not in a hurry, you have the option of renting a car at the airport and driving to Lillehammer, is just two hours!

When to go

Snow is virtually guaranteed in Norway-there are even places where you can cross country ski during summer-but December to March is best. In conclusion, you can go whenever you want!

How long

Allow two weeks, options are limited! For instance, most packages include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, in the town, you will find a few facilities: a couple of cafes, supermarkets, and some restaurants with delicious meals. In conclusion, there’s not much else to do!

Planning

The trip is nine days and is led by an experienced person from the locality, in a ski region that covers approximately 170 km of nature. For instance, the walk begins in Høvringen and ends in the Ringebu mountains, with overnight stays in traditional hotels or cabins in the mountains.
