1. National Museum Of Qatar, Doha
The Qatar National Museum is so intricate in its design that anyone might mistakenly think it is an origami masterpiece. The white building has jittery, folded edges and, on an architectural level, seems almost unreachable. The building is currently under construction and is slowly bringing the architect’s amazing design to life. The design of the museum is stimulated by the desert rose; a natural wonder formed by crystals in particular climates. The architect believed that the desert rose illustrated the course of time and was eager to materialise this idea in the design of the building.
2. Katara Cultural Village, Doha
Katara Cultural Village is located on the eastern bank within West Bay and The Pearl. Katara was born out of a vision to position the State of Qatar as a cultural beacon of the arts, shining in the Middle East through theatre, music, literature, meetings and exhibitions. It hosts major events such as the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, TEDxDoha and the Ajyal Youth Film Festival. The buildings and facilities of the cultural village are randomly rendered to look and feel like a conventional Qatari Al Fareej.
3. Radwani House, Doha
Built in 1920, Radwani House was owned by Aki Akbar Radwani and his family for about 70 years. The Radwani House belonged to one of Qatar’s wealthiest families, who designed the house with a traditional touch. What makes the Radwani house one of the best tourist attractions in Qatar to explore and relive the history, are its artefacts and remains that were found while excavating the house. Some of the family’s rich belongings were obtained showing how wealthy the Qatari family living there was at the time. In 2007, with the archaeological research, the site was restored and turned into a public visitation site. You can see the courtyard with shells that were to keep the area cool and the dust settled.
4. Film City, Zekreet
Qatar’s ‘Mystery Village’, or popularly known as the City of Cinema, is all about its surreal beauty, magnificent scenery and the vast desert that dominates the landscape. Now, this is not like any other historical site in Qatar, but the architecture and setting of this city will take you back to the historical era. Built as a recreational site for the famous Bedouin people, the cinematic city represents the former lifestyle of the Gulf villagers. It is a popular attraction for tourists on holiday in Qatar. From photography to adventures and driving tours in Qatar, Film City is a unique attraction for everyone.
5. Al Zubarah Archaeological Site, Al Shamal
In the middle of nowhere, the sand stretches ahead of you for miles before this bleak castle comes into view. The charm of the fortress lies in its isolation, and you can reach it by camel at an unhurried pace. When you find yourself beneath this castle, you will feel a sense of being attached to a sensational and potential history. To help you better understand the history of the fortress, Al-Zubarah often has exhibitions of the site. This castle will make you feel belittled; you will feel that there is something amazing about understanding your own impertinence.
6. Barzan Towers, Umm Salal Mohammed
The Barzan Towers boast glorious architecture, but to enjoy the full flavour of their beauty, you’ll have to get to the top. Reaching the top, feast your eyes on the views. The building itself is utterly impressive and charming in its own way. Don’t forget to bring a camera; the place is famous for being a good place for photography.
7. Falcon Souq, Doha
This flashy new souk is located right next to the Souq Waqif and is worth a tour simply because of the wide variety of equipment in all things Falcon-related. There is even an outdoor area where you can watch the Falcons being trained by their trainers several times a day. You can also enjoy a tour of the falcon showroom, where the Falcons relax on their perches. Although Falcons come in various price ranges, don’t forget that a well-trained Falcon might cost more than a car.
8. Souq Waqif, Doha
Souq Waqif is located just minutes away from the Corniche. Famous as the social heart of Doha, Souq Waqif is a great place to shop, stroll around, eat delicious food or simply pass the time doing nothing at one of the fascinating local cafes. The site is usually congested with visitors strolling the streets to take in the architectural buildings and the many cultural shops offering everything from embroidery, spices, perfumes and oud (fantastic incense made from agarwood). It is also a famous place to buy unique souvenirs for the people back home.
9. Banana Island, Doha
Banana Island Qatar offers the most serene getaway with the best accommodation. Located a short distance from Doha, the island stands as a crescent-shaped attraction spread over an area of 12 hectares. With diverse marine life and reefs, the island is rich in diversity and is home to the aquatic wonders of the Persian Gulf. Later, the island was transformed into a private resort offering all the luxury and leisure you need for a holiday in Qatar. Today, Banana Island is famous for its excellent service and palm-fringed view.
10. Zekreet Fort, Zekreet
Tucked away in the serene landscape, Zekreet Fort is a historic destination in Qatar, well hidden near the Dukhan region, Zekreet Fort seems to be the only remnant of one of Qatar’s oldest territories. It is the architecture that makes this fort an ideal attraction for the Qatar sightseeing tour that showcases its unusual design and perspective. It is said that the fort was completed in two phases, one without towers, as a square building but later, during the second phase of construction, the fort was redesigned with four towers at each corner. But due to the unusual architecture of Zekreet Fort, the towers were left incomplete, and even today the remains of ‘madabes’ are still there.

These majestic desert camps have become a tradition for locals and foreign visitors in search of new adventures and experiences; the music, art, costumes, and cuisine in Qatar are second to none. Camping generally takes place in the winter season due to the pleasant temperatures that range from 17°C in January to 36°C in May. Visitors can enjoy the tents and a good trek through the dunes and experience the true Arabian cultural tradition.

Recognised among the locals by the name Palm Tree Beach, Umm Bab Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Doha today. The beach offers a unique yet striking Caribbean feel to visitors who come here due to a cluster of palm trees growing along the shore. It even has a children’s play area set up on the beach itself for families to come and enjoy themselves to the fullest. Also, if you want to grab a quick bite to eat while enjoying your time at Umm Bab, there is a shop nearby where visitors can buy anything to eat.
