The following list highlights some of the best places to visiting in Equatorial Guinea. So if you are in Equatorial Guinea, I recommend visiting the following:
- Monte Alen National Park, Centro Sur Province, Equatorial Guinea
- Iladyi Falls, Bioko, Equatorial Guinea
- Corisco Island, Littoral Province, Equatorial Guinea
- Arena Blanca Beach, Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea
- Pico Basile, Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea
1. Monte Alen National Park, Centro Sur Province
It is very mountainous and difficult to penetrate. There are lowland gorillas, jungle elephants, leopards, baboons and other primates, birds, amphibians, insects of all shapes and colours – the rainforest is all this and more. The biodiversity is incredible, as is the constant humidity and heat, and the torrential rains that last only a short time but you don’t care because you are drenched in sweat all day. Be aware that walking through these jungles is tough, especially if you’re staying overnight in one of the very basic campsites inside.
2. Iladyi Falls, Bioko
They are one of the most spectacular attractions on the island of Bioko. Impressive in their location, three separate branches of the Ilachi River drop over the 250-metre rim of the canyon. The adventure includes a river crossing, medium-difficulty descents down the mountain, zebu spotting and some spectacular photography.
3. Corisco Island, Littoral Province
The island has a tropical climate, virgin rainforest and white sandy beaches. Corisco’s beaches are made up of 90% pure silica. The sand is so fine that when you walk on it, it crunches like snow. There are hardly any relief features, but there are some lagoons in the interior of the island.
4. Arena Blanca Beach, Bioko Island
Here you can explore the surroundings, getting lost and finding yourself a million times until you get to know every nook and cranny in detail, where many take the opportunity to relax. As you approach the forest, shrouded in a soft mist, you’ll feel as if what you’re witnessing is unreal because it’s so magical. As well as swimming, another of the things you can do on Equatorial Guinea’s beaches like this one is to take home a souvenir of the area by collecting any shells you come across along the way.
5. Pico Basile, Bioko Island
This is a volcano that is no longer active. From it you will be able to see its neighbour, Mount Cameroon, which is directly opposite. The entire lower part of the mountain is covered by thick jungle. One of the attractions of the site is the diversity of the landscape and the contrast between the different types of vegetation as you climb higher.
