THE BEST BEACHES in Equatorial Guinea

The following list highlights some of the best beaches in Equatorial Guinea. So if you are in Equatorial Guinea, I recommend visiting the following:

Alena Beach

Alena Beach, Bioko Island

Address – Alena Beach, Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea

Google Maps Link – 3°31’43.3″N 8°34’41.9″E

Alena beach is located on Bioko Island. It is a small, quiet beach, surrounded by vegetation. It is the ideal place to spend a relaxing day, without many people around, enjoy the water without many waves and admire the landscape. Bring your own snacks as there is no restaurant nearby where you can buy food, so the best thing is to bring some reserve.

Corisco Beach, Corisco Island, Equatorial Guinea

Corisco Beach, Corisco Island

Address – Corisco Beach, Corisco Island, Equatorial Guinea

Google Maps Link – 0°55’30.1″N 9°20’13.6″E

Corisco Beach is located on the eastern coast of Corisco Island, a small island off the southwestern coast of mainland Equatorial Guinea. Remote and isolated, this white sandy beach has a paradisiacal feeling, lined with palm trees and offering crystal clear waters. Since the Corisco Bay is full of marine life, you can have an unforgettable snorkeling and diving experience here. With the Corisco Airport nearby, you can closely watch planes taking off and landing. The island is full of history, and you can walk around, find Spanish ruins and one of the oldest African cemeteries. Make sure you bring everything you might need since there are scarce facilities on the island.

Otonde Beach, Bata

Address – Utonde Bata Litoral, Bata, Equatorial Guinea

Google Maps Link – 1°56’08.1″N 9°48’42.0″E

Utonde Beach is located in Bata, Rio Muni, the mainland region of Equatorial Guinea. With soft sand and a picturesque backdrop, this calm beach is the perfect place to disconnect from a busy city life. The water is calm and clear, safe for swimming and great for snorkeling, with bigger waves during windy days turning the beach into a surfing spot. A club at the beach offers all necessary facilities, with a great restaurant and friendly staff. Being so remote, the beach never gets too busy or crowded, which makes it a great spot to relax.

La Ferme Beach, Bata

Address –  La Ferme Beach, Bata, Equatorial Guinea

Google Maps Link – 1°46’38.7″N 9°43’32.0″E

La Ferme Beach is located in Bata, Rio Muni, the mainland region of Equatorial Guinea. Soft white sand lined with palm trees, clear waters and a peaceful atmosphere welcome you once you reach this stunning beach.  A restaurant at the beach serves delicious seafood, with a friendly and attentive staff. The water is calm and safe for swimming; however, you can still choose between bathing in the sea or in the pool at the restaurant. It can get busy in the evening, when people arrive to admire the unique sunset view.

Del Palmar Beach

Address – Playa del Palmar, Equatorial Guinea

Google Maps Link – 1°24’15.7″S 5°38’00.0″E

Playa del Palmar is located on the northern coast of Annobón Island, a small island southwest of mainland Equatorial Guinea. With its soft white sand and turquoise waters, this popular beach offers some of the most breathtaking views in Equatorial Guinea. The water is calm and shallow, safe for everyone to swim; for this reason, the beach is mostly frequented by families. The Annobón Airport stands to the left end of the beach, and you can watch planes taking off and landing. There are eateries in the area. Since Playa del Palmar is mostly popular among locals, it is well taken care of and clean, and it never gets overly crowded.
