This is a tropical beach on Pamandzi Island. There are no shops, chairs, bars, umbrellas and other goods of civilization around. But 3 km away, in Dzaoudzi, you can find supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, hotels, car workshops and a big market.

2. N’Gouja Beach, Kanikeli

Plage de N’Gouja is a beautiful, pristine sandy beach in Bueni – this beach is so beautiful it seems almost surreal! It is approximately 1.41 kilometres long, with incredible views and warm weather all year round. Swimming with the turtles, lying on the clear sand under the baobabs, watching the pancakes and lemurs are the pleasures of this island paradise.

3. Lake Dziani, Pamandzi

Dziani Dzaha is an emerald green crater lake in Petite-Terre. Here you can admire the turquoise waters of the Dzaoudzi rocks and the large reefs. A path leads to it from the lighthouse overlooking Moya beach.

4. Mont Choungui, Chirongui

Climbing Mount Choungui is one of the must-do activities in Mayotte during the dry season. It occupies the southern part of the island with its perfect steep cone reaching a height of 594 metres. It offers panoramic views of the south of the island and its basalt columns can be seen from Petite-Terre.

5. Chissioua Mtsamboro, Mtsamboro

This is a beautiful island about 3 miles off the northwest coast of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean in the Comoros archipelago. It is a hilly island of 2 square kilometres, sheltered from the main beach and located in the southwestern part of the island, with the main settlement and many huts scattered along the beach.

6. Ilot de Sable Blanc, Mayotte

The small island “Sable Blanc” in French is a sandbank southeast of Mayotte, about 1.7 kilometres off Cape Sazili in the Indian Ocean. It is about 453 metres long, a few metres above the water and is part of a coral reef. It is truly beautiful and heavenly.

7. Saziley National Park, Mayotte

A great experience is camping on the large palm-fringed beach at Saziley. A few metres from the edge is a slope rich in coral and fish, a great place for snorkelling, and you can take advantage of the shade under the baobabs to relax or read. One thing to do in the evening is to visit the Turtle Bridge, it’s spectacular!

8. Iles Choazil, Mtsamboro

They are two small islands off the coast of Mtsamboro. The body of water that separates them is called Choazil and is part of the Mozambique Channel. Coral reefs are found on all sides of the island except the southern part. The Choazil Islands are said to be 164 feet high.

9. Benara Mount, Grande Terre

Climbing Mount Benara is a hike not to be missed. The trail starts at Tsaranano. It first goes through the forest before reaching the neck of Andalibe. From there the ridge leads to the summit of Mount of Benara. A fantastic view reaches the north-eastern tip of the island. Descend the southern slope to Bandrele. For this trip, you should estimate a day’s walking time.

10. Soulou Waterfall, Mayotte

Cascade de Soulou is located near Mtsanga Soulou, close to the Bambous giants. This is an ideal place for a hike and is generally considered an easy route, averaging 28 minutes. This route leads to the beach on the first floor, from where you can also admire the beautiful waterfall on the first floor.
