Belle Mare Plage is located in a protected bay with 2 kilometres of sandy beach and turquoise waters. It offers a natural balance between sophistication and a tropical setting. Here you can do everything from mini cruises and snorkelling to golf and cycling. Belle Mare is the perfect destination for a family holiday thanks to its endless activities and breathtaking views of the island.

This uninhabited islet is one of the most popular destinations on the island for the beauty of its white sandy beaches and the turquoise blue lagoon that surrounds it. 6. Botanical Garden of Pamplemousses, Pamplemousses
The Botanical Garden of Pamplemousses is a true tropical oasis created by the 18th century botanist Pierre Poivre, covering 37 hectares with nearly 600 species of trees and plants. The Pamplemousses Botanical Garden is the third largest botanical garden in the world and throughout its history has been created with seeds and plants from all over the world. The Pamplemousses Botanical Garden is open daily from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
7. Maheswarnath Mandir, Pamplemousses
One of the island’s finest temples. From here, an annual pilgrimage is made to the main lake of Mauritius. It consists of seven temples, all following Bengali architecture. As everywhere, there are legends that may or may not be true in the end. In the case of the Temple of Triolet, it is said that a jar containing gold coins was found during its construction.
8. The Sugar Adventure, Pamplemousses
The museum is located in the old Beau Plan sugar mill, which operated from the 18th to the 20th century. The interactive tour on the big screen and in the cinema is a highlight. Cave over 100 metres long full of stalagmites and stalactites, hidden in a coral plain in the southwestern part of the island, can be visited with or without a guide. Visitor permits must be obtained, but a guided tour is recommended for convenience and safety. Access to this cave is very easy.

This lake, better known as the Great Basin, is a large lake that is the crater of an extinct volcano. Ganga Talao is considered the most visited and sacred Hindu site in Mauritius. This is because centuries ago, water from India’s sacred Ganges River flowed into the lake. Thousands of Hindus make pilgrimages every year to celebrate Lord Shiva, one of the three main gods of Hinduism.
