History

This city obtained its fame in World War II where it was named “town that fooled the British”.  That’s because they hang lit lanterns high in the treetops at night. With this, they succeeded in confusing them and making their cannons fire erroneously.

Some years later, it became the main thoroughfare on South Talbot Street surrounded by historic buildings and galleries all around. In addition to this, in 2007 this town became one of the top 10 Romantic Escapes in the USA.
