Nemesis is located within Alton Towers. The four-inversion roller coaster was one of the first Bolliger & Mabillard rides to be installed outside of the United States and the first in Europe (as an independent company). The ride has been very well received, consistently ranking highly in industry polls. It was opened in 1994 and is widely considered to be one of the best and most popular roller coasters in the UK. The ride features a number of drops, twists, and turns, including a vertical loop and a cobra roll, and reaches speeds of up to 50 mph.
The coaster is set in a futuristic, science fiction-themed environment, with a storyline that involves riders being shrunk to a microscopic size and sent on a mission to destroy a powerful, rogue computer virus named “Nemesis”. The ride is widely regarded as a classic and continues to be one of the most popular attractions at Alton Towers.
