Formentera
Formentera is another island that you cannot miss. It is undoubtedly one of the favorite destinations of the Mediterranean Sea. Located south of the island of Ibiza, Formentera gathers thousands of visitors every year, in search of a sunny sky and beautiful beaches.
Formentera’s gastronomy
Formentera is undoubtedly an island with some of the best beaches in the world, with the best-preserved waters of the archipelago. But behind the sun, the sand and the crystalline waters, another of the great pleasures of Formentera is its gastronomy. Visiting the island without trying some of its traditional dishes and drinks would almost be a sin.
In Formentera, you can buy some traditional local products, such as the Peix Sec (dried fish, the main ingredient of the famous payesa salad); besides, you can get liquid salt, wines, honey, and fruits such as dried figs and almonds, fresh cheese from the island, or the famous herbal liquor.
The La Mola Lighthouse
One of the best-known places is the Lighthouse of La Mola, the oldest and most important of Formentera, located at the highest point of the island. Built under the orders of Queen Elizabeth II on a cliff 120 meters high, the lighthouse shines every night from the steep end of the island since 1961.
How to get there
To get to Ibiza or Formentera, you can go by plane or boat; once you get to the port, you can rent a car to tour the islands, allowing you to fully explore each of them. There are activities for all tastes, and this will be a trip that you will want to repeat.
When to go
Ibiza and Formentera have their seasons; even so, any time of the year is good for traveling to here but, the best months are from May to July. During this period, the pleasant temperatures allow you to enjoy the beautiful beaches and coves of the island, without suffering the oppressive heat and the August crowds, as well as the high prices.

Es Vedrá
Apart from Ibiza and Formentera, Spain has another famous island. The inhabited island of Es Vedrá is located off the southwestern coast of Ibiza. In fact, this island is famous for its legends and mythology, said to be home to the sirens and sea-nymphs from the Odyssey. Here, you can spot the endangered Eleonora’s falcon, an incredible bird of prey.
