From 25, I decided to travel by myself, instead of waiting on my friends to pursue my dreams of travelling around the world. From making that first steps it’s allowed me to see so many places & I’ve collected so many ideas & experiences that I want to share with you. 🏖️🌅🌆

Currently I enjoy spending my time as a successful digital nomad (blogger, vlogger & entrepreneur) who has been to 6 continents. 🌎🌍🌏

Golden-sand beaches surrounded by pristine waters, giant granite rocks, and a few villas. This place is not only a paradise for tourists but also the haven for many endangered and endemic species. Cousine and Praslin are part of the group of islands that make up the Seychelles, and you should definitely visit them if you’re a fan of these type of natural wonders, so pack up your things and get ready for this adventure.

There are only four villas on the island with a maximum of eight people on them at the same time, therefore finding a space for you it’s not going to be complicated. On the other hand, you have to be careful if you travel here between the months of September and December because there is a huge possibility that you may see some hawksbill turtles laying their eggs on the beach. You will see so many turtles that their presence will make them look like intruders, forcing you to leave the beach so you don’t disturb them while laying.

As we mentioned before, this place has a variety of species, and these even include birds on their list, especially Cousine, which is also an important breeding center for the Seychelles magpie robin and the blue pigeon, and it’s home to the world’s largest colony of wedge-tailed shearwaters. For that reason, every single non-native animal is eliminated from the island, as many of the birds are ground nesters; this measure was taken in order to protect those rare bird species.

Cousine also has a number of tortoises which are completely habituated to humans. Therefore, they will follow you until you tickle their scaly and soft skin, and sometimes sleep peacefully in presence of anyone, showing you that they are not scared of you. Also, some of them have their shells painted with distinctive numbers, so you can check their history and age on a list.

Close to Praslin island you can visit the Vallée de Mai, which is a nature reserve that is home to a strange species of coconut: the coco de mer. In fact, the emblem of Seychelles is the coconut, and it’s even featured on the visa stamps. This place not only is the home of the coco de mer, but also is home to a number of endemic plants, and is the last patch of native forest on the island.

It is worth taking the time to visit and explore both islands and their beaches, but while being in Praslin, we highly recommend you to stay at the Lemuria Resort because you will have access to two private beaches, and to Anse Georgette which is the most gorgeous beach in Seychelles.

Just for you to know

Air Seychelles flies to Victoria, the capital on Mahe Island. Domestic flights can be taken from Victoria to Praslin. Also, the only way to reach Cousine is by taking a helicopter transfer. Last but not least, all the arrangements can be made through Turquoise Holidays.
